Nookie's POV
I woke up on the bench the next morning at sunrise. Damn sun shining in my eyes. Just what I fucking needed right now. It was way to early for me to be awake. I stretched and yawned. I was extremely stiff from sleeping on the bench all night, not like I hadn't done that one before. It's just been a while since I had to. I sighed and sat up. God, I could barely move. Note to self: Do not sleep on a bench unless you have to ever again! I sat back against the bench letting my muscles relax and stretch some. This was ridiculous, I hadn't been this stiff in years. After about half an hour I took a deep breath and stood up. My muscles protested the entire time, making me groan out loud in pain. "Fuck it all." When I straightened my back, it popped and cracked in several places.
"Well now that doesn't sound good." The voice made me practically jump out of my skin. I spun around quickly, big mistake. I almost fell, Randy catching me around the waist. "Whoa there, baby girl." He smiled that charming smile of his that always made me melt. Fuck, he was gorgeous. "Where were you yesterday?" I hit him in the chest. "I was looking for you and ended up falling asleep on this fucking bench!" He shrugged. "You were with her weren't you?" Accusations are never a good thing, now was no exception. His arms dropped from my waist and he frowned, I knew then I had fucked up badly. "How could you even accuse me of that after what we talked about yesterday?" He was so calm, it was eerie. It almost had me worried. Like he had made his choice to be with her instead of me or something. It was weird.
"She came to my fucking apartment is how! Explain that one, Randy!" My voice was gaining volume the more I talked. And the more I talked the more irritated I was getting. "She thinks this is a fucking game and she's gonna win because she took you from me once before." I stepped back from him. "This is bullshit, Randy! YOU need to tell her what it is you want. I'm not going any further with us until you tell her. I don't want to go through the pain that it caused the first time. I can't go through that again." I sighed and sat back down on the bench. He had been quiet through the entire rant of mine. "Say something, Randy. Or so help me I will walk away right now and never look back. There will be no third chances with me. You're fucking lucky you're getting a second chance." I looked up at him. The look on his face was almost frightening. He walked over almost seeming like he wasn't there or like he heard something he wasn't expecting. I never said a word I just waited on him to say something. If he didn't soon I was going to get up and leave just like I said.
Randy's POV
I sat there with my face in my hands trying to figure out how the hell Katalina had found out where Nookie was. And how that's where I had disappeared to. This was so confusing for me. Fuck, I sound like a girl. I have got to fucking quit that shit.
I sat on the bench quiet until I heard Nookie stand up. "Wait! Nook...please. Sit back down. I just needed to sort through some things." I reached for her hand, she hesitantly took it as she returned to the bench. We sat there looking in one anothers eyes, being quiet yet again. "Randy, you need to talk to me. Otherwise, I'm gone from your life forever as much as it hurts me to say that. I won't be put through the pain like I was the first time. I'm sorry."
I nodded and opened my mouth to say something only to shut it again. Dammit, how do I start? I closed my eyes briefly then reopened them. "Listen, I had no idea Katalina was even here until you said something. Undoubtedly, she's trying to plan something and keep me from knowing." I let that sink in with her. "You mean she came here on her own? What happened before you left?"
I met her eyes with mine. "We had a argument about you. I had just hung up my phone when she came onto the porch. I told her to leave me alone, we argued back and forth about you a bit then I got in my truck and came here. I didn't even tell her where I was going or if I'd be back." I shook my head, I was definitely confused on why she would possibly be here.
When it dawned on me my eyes grew wide. "I could almost guarntee you why she's here. She wants you out of the picture completely. To get you to believe something horrible on me that would make you hate me or break contact with me completely. It's the only thing I can think of." She looked like she was thinking this through.
Nookie's POV
"You have a point, Randy. She did say you were hers and she wouldn't give up." I sighed. How could I have let Katalina get to me like that? "Fuck, I told her game on! I got you back in my life now I'm not letting her take you from me if you're wanting for us to try. It's so not going to happen!" I squeezed his hand. "Tell me what you want, Randy."
"I want you to fight for me. I want to be with you. I want her to go to hell. I want my life back from before that bitch stepped into it. I want you back." I smiled and ran my hand through his shaggy hair, one of my favorite features of his. "Then she won't get you back. You know me, Randy." I smirked. Let the games begin, the bitch was going down.
